Maria Stewart, Director
Maria Stewart lives in Kansas, located on the Central Plains of the United States.
She has Hypopituitarism, (SAI) from a Traumatic Brain Injury. Maria began having symptoms of adrenal insufficiency in 1999. Fifteen years later she finally had a correct diagnosis of hypopituitarism resulting in adrenal insufficiency.
During the time from symptom onset to diagnosis she experienced the frustration of unpredictable symptoms, physicians too busy to listen, and misdiagnosis. After a correct diagnosis, a fire had been lit. A burning determination to help others avoid the same journey. She found other patients who wanted to make a difference for the adrenal insufficient community and AIC was created. Maria’s main focus now is diagnosis and testing. She brings her skills for writing and organization to the team.
